Cavan County Council have accepted that manhole covers on some busy roads across the county needs to be addressed.
The local authority said it will do as much as it can to hold those responsible for manhole covers to account.
Councillor Peter McVitty said he has received numerous complaints from motorists and residents about manhole covers which have dropped below the road surface.
He told the recent June monthly meeting of Cavan County Council that one location often brought to his attention is a manhole covering located at the roundabout at Cavan Bus Station.
The Fine Gael Councillor says there is a problem in all towns across the county.
Councillor McVitty says he has been getting a lot of complaints from people all over Cavan in respect to this matter.
