A local councillor has welcomed funding for childcare services in the North Monaghan area.
The funding was announced by Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley under the Building Blocks Extension Scheme.
Knockatallon Community Childcare received €750,000 euro worth of funding, whilst Carrickroe Community Childcare received €647,251.
The Building Blocks Extension Scheme will deliver additional capacity by supporting existing private and community early learning and childcare providers to extend their premises.
It will also allow community services to purchase or construct new premises.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Pauric Clerkin described the funding allocation as "great news" for the North Monaghan area.
