There are 420 less bed spaces within the tourism sector than there were in 2023 across Cavan and Monaghan.
Nationally in 2023, Fáilte Ireland’s records identified there were 233,578 bedspaces and that number now stands at 227,323.
According to the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke this is primarily due to closures related to business repurposing or retirement.

While in Monaghan, in 2023 there were 1190 bedspaces for local tourism that number has now reduced to 982 this year.
