Diesel laundering, "blight on society" - Cllr Campbell

The most of the dumping of such waste occurred in the Oram and Donaghamoyne areas.

The dumping of diesel laundering waste is continuing to be a significant issue in Co Monaghan.

That's according to local councillor, Aidan Campbell who say the practice is a scourge in the region. Members of Monaghan County Council were told at last month's meeting of the local authority that there was 20 such incidents so far this year.

The most of the dumping of such waste occurred in the Oram and Donaghamoyne areas. Costs incurred to date from this issue in Monaghan stands at 75,000 euro for 2025.

Cllr Campbell says diesel laundering is a blight on our society especially in South Monaghan.
