The odds were certainly ‘defied’ this week on an Dowra suckler farm after a set of triplet heifer calves were born.
Based in Dowra, the Crawford brothers have been providing suckler farmers across Ireland with top quality in-calf heifers for over 20 years.
The brothers couldn’t believe their luck with the birth of the triplets to a first calving heifer at that.

The odds of a cow having triplets of the same sex is 400,000 to 1 and the odds are even higher for a first calving heifer. Mother and three baby girls are said be doing very well.
