Monaghan Gardaí attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision over the weekend. At the scene, officers found a severely damaged BMW and the driver over the legal alcohol limit to drive.
The vehicle, which was extensively damaged lost windows, its bumper and wheels in the crash but Gardaí said "Thankfully the incident did not end in serious injury." The male driver was subsequently arrested and charged to appear in court.
Monaghan Gardaí ask road users to make our roads safer for all and "don't drive while under the influence of drink or drugs."
