Members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit detected a number of motorists speeding whilst conducting a speed check operation at the start of this week.
According to local Gardaí, fixed payment notices were issued, along with penalty points and a fine. Members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit also stopped a car with no NCT for the past two years.
This driver also failed a roadside drug test. On arrest further samples were taken at Cavan Garda Station and the car was taken off the road.
