A man was arrested at the weekend after Cavan roads Policing Unit stopped the car he was driving and carried out a roadside oral fluid test.
Checkpoints were being conducted by the Gardai in conjunction with the Road Safety Authority (RSA).
The driver tested positive for both cocaine and cannabis.

He was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Gardai are advising motorists not to drive while under the influence.
