Over 3000 drivers were detected speeding over the bank holiday weekend, with one of the highest speeds recorded by a driver in Cavan. A driver on the N87 in Cavan was detected at a speed of 152km/hr in an 80km/hr zone.
Two people were killed in collisions while six people received serious and life threatening injuries in serious collisions. 187 people were caught drink driving.
