Drop in assault cases in Cavan-Monaghan last year

There's been a drop in the number of assault and harassment crimes recorded in the Cavan-Monaghan area.

According to the CSO, 656 cases of threats to kill, assaults, harassments and related cases were recorded in the region last year

This is a drop on the 765 recorded cases in 2023.

3 homicide offences were recorded last year, and one case of manslaughter.

7 homicide offences were recorded in 2023 and no cases of manslaughter.
