Cllr Raymond Aughey will perform the name change of the road linking Old Cross Square to the Harps grounds to "Slí Ógie Uí Dhufaigh".

Dublin footballing legend Con O'Callaghan will launch a new book in memory of the late Brendan Uí Dhufaigh at a ceremony this evening in Monaghan Harps club house.

The road linking Old Cross Square to the Harps grounds will also be re-named in memory of Ógie to coincide with his first anniversary.

'Ómós d'Ógie' is a 300-page book, compiled by Ógie's father and is full of photographs, stories and articles.

It will be launched at a ceremony tonight by Dublin legend Con O'Callaghan.

Elsewhere, Cathaoirleach of the Monaghan MD, Raymond Aughey, will perform the name change of the road linking Old Cross Square to the Harps grounds to "Slí Ógie Uí Dhufaigh", or "Ógie Ó Dufaigh Way".

A plaque will be also unveiled by Monaghan Harps senior captain Aodhán Óg McAnnespie and by Ógie's close friend, Lochlainn Power, on an outside wall of the Club House.

Meanwhile, Monaghan GAA's County board last night commemorated Ógie's memory with a tree planting ceremony, the unveiling of plaque, and hanging a framed and signed jersey in the Centre of Excellence in Cloghan.

Brendan was killed in a car accident on his way home from captaining the Monaghan Under 20s to victory against Donegal in the Ulster semi-final last July.
