Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a serious traffic collision on the N2 the Demesne, Castleshane in Monaghan.
Gardaí and Emergency Services were alerted shortly before 3pm and remain at the scene this evening.
The road remains closed in both directions and traffic diversions are currently in place. Diversions are in place via Ballybay and on to Monaghan Town.

Traffic is extremely heavy in Monaghan Town area this evening following the knock on from the closure.
Gardai say no additional information is available at this time. Northern Sound FM understands the road will remain closed for the rest of the day.
