A local councillor has welcomed the end of the IFA protest at Bord Bia HQ.
Cllr Pauric Clerkin says after over 28 days it's welcome news that the commitment of the independent governance review has been given.
He says the commitment to a full and transparent review is an important step toward restoring confidence and ensuring robust governance structures within Bord Bia.
According to the local Fine Gael Councillor the decision by Larry Murrin to stand aside from chairing board meetings for the duration of the review process further demonstrates recognition of the seriousness of the concerns raised and the need for clarity and accountability.
Cllr Clerkin said he fully understood the deep concern felt by farmers and the importance of ensuring their voices are heard at every level.
The Monaghan representative says he looks forward to continuing to work constructively with the IFA and with farmers to secure fair outcomes and deliver a strong, sustainable future for Irish agriculture.
