Environmental concerns have been raised about the River Fane in Co Monaghan.
During reconstruction works in advance of the resurfacing of a major road into Inniskeen some of the construction material, which may not be of good quality was placed along the River Fane at Lannat.
As a result, some local residents and those involved in angling have expressed concerns of a possible pollution risk to the river.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Noel Keelan confirmed that he has brought this matter to the attention of the local authority to investigate the matter further.
He said he will continue to raise this matter until it is resolved to the satisfaction of all concerned.
