Farmers reminded of need to 'keep their animals right' to prevent straying cattle

However, the public is asked to be mindful that the farmer responsible could be in a vulnerable category.

Farmers have been reminded of the need to "keep their cattle right" to prevent them from straying onto people's property.

Monaghan IFA Chair, Patrick McCormick, says the "last thing farmers want to see is cattle in people's lawns".

He added that local IFA members will approach farmers who are responsible for straying cattle, if they are made aware of the issue.

However, speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, the Monaghan IFA Chair asked for members of the public to be mindful that the farmer who owns the cattle could be in a vulnerable category:
