The free car parking scheme that was in place in Cavan Town and Monaghan Town over the festive period ends this evening.
Parking in public car parks in the local towns had been free from early December over the holidays and today.
The local authorities ran the scheme at the busiest time of the year to support local business and encourage people to shop local.

From tomorrow all normal parking fees will apply in Monaghan Town.
Cavan County Council made over 1,200 free off-street car parking spaces available to shoppers throughout December.
