A local councillor has highlighted his frustration when it comes to the lack of funding allocated by Government towards road repairs across Co Cavan.
Cllr TP O'Reilly has warned that roads are deteriorating at a rapid rate across Co Cavan, adding that he's never seen them as bad as they are now.
According to the local Fianna Fail representative, Cavan County Council has not yet received an allocation from the Department on what it can spend on local roads this year.
While there have been allocations for Active Travel initiatives, Cllr O'Reilly says the Department needs to "park up" on recreational things and focus more on the infrastructure that is actually needed.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr O'Reilly has called for more funding to go into the repair of local roads in order to get infrastructure up to a standard that's acceptable to the public in Co Cavan.
