Monaghan County Council were successful in securing a substantial funding allocation for the redevelopment of a well-known former bar in Emyvale.
€50,000 of funding was secured from the DRCD and match-funding from Monaghan MD for the redevelopment of Mahon's 'Red Boy's' into a multi-use community hub.
A community consultation took place on the 28th of November in Emyvale Leisure Centre.

According to Monaghan County Council, the purpose of the meeting was to gather input from the community and build the support of the community for the redevelopment.
The local authority will now prepare Tender Brief Documents for the engagement of consultants.
