A local funeral director has received the go-ahead for a new funeral home premises.
Declan Finnegan, who owns and operates Lakelands Funeral Home & Crematorium, applied to Cavan County Council for the change of use of an existing general purpose store on Longford Street, Arva.
The former general store will be converted to a funeral home, and a single storey extension to the side and front of the building is set to be constructed.

Alterations to the yard area to form a car park along with changes to the existing entrance on Longford Street all form part of the plans.
County planners granted the application with 14 conditions attached.
