The funeral of Aoife Lennon who lost her life in a collision in Monaghan on Wednesday will take place today.
The young woman died when in the collision that occurred on Wednesday afternooon on the N2 just outside Monaghan.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to collision that involved a car and a truck occurred on the N2 at approximately 2:45pm that afternoon.
Aoife is a native off Derrynoose in County Armagh and was married to a local Garda officer.
Councillor Niamh McCooey said the close-knit community share in a collective grief that words can scarcely capture.
She said the loss of such a young life is felt deeply by all who knew her, and by the wider community who mourn alongside her family.
Aoife's remains will repose at her home 68 Drumnahavil Rd Derrynoose until removal on today (Saturday) to arrive at St Mochua's Church Derrynoose for 2pm funeral mass.
Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
