The first step in helping with a gambling addiction is accepting that there is a problem.
That's according to Co Cavan gambling counsellor, Darragh King from Teach Oscail in Cavan Town.
Darragh says recovery is a gradual process, but it is absolutely possible.

He says people do recover and you can live your life, but it can be daunting reaching out at the very start.
Darragh says there is still a lot of stigma around problem gambling and that should not be the case.
The local counsellor says no one is immune to developing a problem of a gambling problem.
