Local gardaí have added their condolences to those of many other individuals and organisations in Co. Monaghan for the late John Connolly. The community worker and GAA stalwart passed away suddenly on Tuesday.
In an online post, An Garda Siochána Cavan / Monaghan said members were "deeply saddened" to learn of Mr Connolly's passing and expressed their deep condolences to his family. "John worked closely with guards for many years both within the community and through his passion for GAA", the post goes on to say.
The Currin clubman and Monaghan County Board Assistant Secretary is being laid to rest tomorrow. Local gardaí ask all those attending Mr Connolly's wake to follow the instructions of the stewards of Currin GAA. Details of a shuttle bus in operation for the wake are available on the Northern Sound Death Notices section below.
