Gardaí are appealing, this morning, for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision outside Castleblayney yesterday evening to come forward.
A man and a woman in their 60s were pronounced dead at the scene on the N2 at Mullaghanee. A passenger in the second car - a woman in her 60s - was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where her condition is being described as critical.
The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardai would like to hear from road users with camera footage - including dash-cam- travelling on the N2 at Castleblayney between 6:05pm and 6:30pm yesterday.
