Gardai in the Cavan Monaghan division have issued safety advice to the entire community as people gear up for Halloween festivities at the weekend.
They say that while it can be a fun time for some, for others it's a time of worry and concern. Local Gardai are advising everyone to be mindful of older members of their community and to also spare a thought for pets, whom they added, "may not appreciate the effects of fireworks".
They added that there has already been a number of reports with regard to missing pets. Gardai are also advising of the dangers of fireworks and how they can often lead to serious injury.
