The government is being accused of being 'hellbent on plunging the into chaos' as the speaking rights row continues to escalate.
Opposition parties have withdrawn from a paired voting arrangement following a meeting of leaders this morning.
It was in response to proposals passing through the Dail Reform Committee, which would see speaking time changed to include government-supporting independents such as Michael Lowry.
Sinn Fein local TD Matt Carthy says those independents are not opposition or unaligned. In the Dail this afternoon, Tánaiste Simon Harris was critical that the row is ongoing. The Fine Gael Leader was also critical of Matt Carthy in his role of spokesperson for Sinn Fein on justice.
