The government is to blame for the "horrendous damage" that dogs are causing to sheep.
That's according to Cavan IFA Chair, Elizabeth Ormiston and comes following an appeal by gardaí across Cavan and Monaghan in relation to a number of reports of dogs worrying sheep.
Local gardaí have reminded the public that the stress caused by dogs can result in sheep miscarrying.

The Cavan IFA Chair has called for dog owners keep their dogs on a lead at all times and for all dogs to be microchipped and registered on a national database.
