A Cavan man believes frustrations surrounding the housing of asylum seekers are close to boiling over completely.
A peaceful protest was held on Saturday in Roscommon against a proposed IPAS centre in Roscommon Town, attended by over 200 people.
An Comisiún Pleanála are due to decide on the proposed centre next month.
Retired Garda, John Wilson, from Co.Cavan, was invited by the organisers of the protest to speak at the event.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, he says people's frustrations are high, and successive Governments have refused to listen.
Mr Wilson also defended the use of the tricolour in the protests, and the slogan 'Ireland belongs to the Irish'
