Grainne Burns crowned 2026 Cavan Rose

The ceremony took place last night in the Hotel Kilmore.

Grainne Burns has been crowned as the 2026 Cavan Rose.

The ceremony took place last night in the Hotel Kilmore.

The 28 year old from Cavan Town has a BSc in Applied Biology and Biopharmaceutical Science. She currently works as a medical lab aide in Cavan General Hospital and hopes to further her studies to become a medical scientist.

She has been sponsored by Klass Cleaners, and she will represent the county in Tralee this summer.

Elsewhere, Emyvale woman Leah Murphy has been selected as this year's Monaghan Rose.

She was crowned at Saturday night's Monaghan Rose of Tralee Selection Night at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Leah graduated from Queens University with a Degree in Computing and Information Technology and is now a manager at Options Technology Limited, based in Belfast.

The 25-year-old is a Gaeilgeoir and is deeply involved in the world of the Irish language.

She has been sponsored by Muineachán le Gaeilge, and she will represent the county in Tralee this summer.
