Heather Humphreys’ presidential campaign has spent four times more on social media advertising than her rivals combined.
Recent figures show Fine Gael has spent €11,194 promoting the Cavan-Monaghan TD on Facebook and Instagram in the past month, most of it in the week before September 21st.
By comparison, Catherine Connolly’s campaign spent just €873, while Jim Gavin’s total came to €1,719.
It comes as candidates face a narrowing window to reach voters online, with less than two weeks left to advertise before Meta bans political ads in Ireland.
