Historical human remains have been found along the Ulster Canal greenway in Co Monaghan.
Gardaí say they were alerted to historical human remains that were located by a member of the public at the Clones Marina.
The discovery was located yesterday evening at approximately 5pm. Gardaí attended the scene and located a human skull on the embankment. It will now be forwarded to a Forensic Anthropologist for examination. Local Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
