House buyers are opting to purchase in the wider east Cavan area due to the fact they can commute and they get 'extra bang for their buck'.
That's according to Donal Keenan from Keenan Auctioneers in Kingscourt.
Donal says there is a lot of demand for the likes of Mullagh and Bailieboro with the proximity to the M3/N3.
Kingscourt then with direct access to the likes of Navan to join the M3 is also proving popular with people trying to get on the property market.
The government grant via the Croí Cónaithe scheme has been a game changer, according to the local auctioneer.
Donal says there are some derelict properties locally that would never have come to the market or sold only for the government grant. The Co Cavan auctioneer says the reality is that new houses are needed and needed badly. He says it always comes back to supply and demand and there is certainly of demand locally for properties and he sees this continuing.
