Monaghan remains the most expensive county in the region to buy a home.
That's according to figures revealed in the Irish Independent, which broke down costs and their percentage change in 12 months.
The average cost of a 4-bed semi-detached home in Co. Monaghan is now just over €326,000. That's according to a countrywide breakdown compiled by the paper, which revealed prices in the county had increased by an average of 7%.
While the average price of a 2-bed apartment in Co. Monaghan is €168,334. It's the dearest in the region, but Cavan saw the highest percentage changes in 12 months.
The biggest jump was in apartment prices, at a 15.5% increase. The average cost of a 2-bed apartment in Co. Cavan was €145,000, as of June 2025.
While a 3-bed semi-detached house will set you back an average of €250,000, or €290,000 for a 4-bed. Nationally, prices are up by 5.05% in the first six months of this year, with the average price of a home currently standing at €385,998.
