Heather Humphreys has hit out at the level of abuse that her and her family have received during the Presidential campaign.
Speaking on the Big Interview on Virgin Media One, Ms Humphreys says the amount of sectarian abuse on social media is being driven from the far left.
The former minister says she has never encountered anything like this before.
She says the abuse she has faced during her Áras campaign centres around her religion and her traditions.
The Presidential candidate says it's slimily not good enough and she called it out during that interview.
She said: "The amount of abuse my family have received during this campaign, on social media, and it's coming from the far left, I've never seen the like of it before.
"The amount of sectarian abuse, that has been out there, about my religion, and my traditions, and where I come from.
"I can tell you where I come from, I come from a minority community in Co. Monaghan.
"I'm a very proud republican. I'm a very proud republican in the sense of Wolfe Tone, Henry Joy McCracken, and the United Irishmen of 1798.
"There is a video out there of a person in a balaclava, putting up a very sectarian poster of me, and it's there for everyone to see," Ms. Humphreys added.
