A stand has to be taken now, or there will be no pig industry in Ireland.
That's according to IFA Regional Chair Frank Brady.
The IFA is protesting outside a Monaghan secondary processor this morning in a call for price increases.

Farmers have placed themselves at the gates of four factories, including Connolly's Pork and Bacon in Scotstown, and are not allowing produce to leave or enter the factories.
The IFA is calling for a 30 cent per kilo increase in pig meat by the end of the month, to bring the price to €2 per kg, which according to a Teagasc report is 25 cent below the break-even mark.
Frank Brady told the Joe Finnegan Show that retailers "are not willing to help anybody":
