Incidents of cold-calling reported in Co Cavan

Gardaí have issued a warning to the public over reports of fraudulent behaviour in Co Cavan. A group of males have been calling to houses offering to tarmac driveways or yards for a cut down price or for free. Once the job is complete the perpetrators are charging extortionate prices.

According to Gardaí, a number of these cold-calling incidents have occurred in Cavan over the last 48 hours. Incidents have been reported in the Kilnaleck, Belturbet and Ballyhaise areas. Investigating officers have described the men as "very persuasive" and "pushy." Gardaí have advised the public not engage with them and to notify Gardaí immediately.
