There’s been an increase in planning applications being lodged in Co Monaghan for the first 5 months of the year compared to 2025.
344 housing applications were lodged up until the end of May of this year compared to 328 for the same period last year.
40 of the applications were for retention, while 222 of them were new applications.

There was 5 part 8 planning applications and 65 applications that were exempt from planning notices.
83.8% of the planning applications received this year to date, are through the online planning portal.
