The case of Kelly Lynch, the 23-year-old woman whose body was recovered from the Ulster Canal in Monaghan last St. Patrick's Day, will be covered on TV news tonight.
As the first anniversary of the young woman's death approaches on March 16th, many questions around her untimely death remain for her family. Although her body was not recovered from the Monaghan Town waterway until the morning of St. Patrick's Day, it had been 30 hours since Kelly was last seen alive.
Her parents Julieanne and Sean Lynch have always queried why guards did not treat her death as suspicious and they have been trying to piece together her final hours ever since. Last October, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris agreed to open a peer review into Kelly's death but, that process has not been completed.
In November last, the BBC broadcast a documentary examining the facts of the case.Tonight, UTV will air a news item on Kelly Lynch and her parents' quest for the truth tonight from 6pm.
