A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection over an alleged serious assault on a teenage girl in Cavan town on St Patrick’s Day.
It's understood the serious incident took place in the Townparks area of the town. In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Gardaí say they are investigating an alleged serious assault that is reported to have occurred in Cavan town on Monday, March 17th.
A man aged in his 20s who was arrested and detained in connection with this investigation has since been released without charge. Gardai say investigations are ongoing at this time.
