Longford Gardaí are investigating the circumstances around the tragic death of a baby girl who was found unresponsive in her home yesterday morning. Emergency services attended a property in Abbeylara where the girl was discovered with an apparent head injury. The baby girl was removed to the mortuary at Crumlin Children's Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place today.
Gardaí say the State pathologist will conduct a post-mortem and the results will determine the course of the investigation. Investigations are ongoing.
