Jack and Sophie were the most popular baby names in Ireland last year, according to new data from the Central Statistics Office.
Noah and Eabha followed closely behind, while Irish names such as Iarlaith, Fiadh and Rian rose in popularity. The number of babies called Mary dropped significantly, pushing the name out of the top 100 for only the third time since 1974.
