A Co Cavan undertaker has highlighted the importance of pre-planning your funeral.
Colm Kieran of Kieran Brothers Funeral Directors says he has seen first-hand how poor communication can lead to conflict.
Mr Kieran highlighted that cremation can be contentious as a traditionally burial is still a primary choice for people.
The Kingscourt undertaker warned that conflict emerges within families when there aren't clear instructions.
Despite this, he believes putting your voice in the room can be one of the greatest gifts you could give your family as poor communication leads to conflict.
Speaking on todays' Joe Finnegan Show, the local funeral director says the key thing is to take time, sit down and write out your preferred arrangements for everyone to know.
He highlighted the importance of pre-planning: "We sense from pre-planners that in most cases they don't want it to be a morbid affair and instead a celebration of their life. It's important to put your voice in the room when it comes to that arrangement taking place and in an awful lot of cases the conflict comes between families when there isn't clear instructions.
"Having your voice in the room is one of the best gifts you can give your family. I would strongly advise people to sit down, have that conversation and most importantly write it down."
