A lack of new housing developments is fuelling the price of all property across the region. Dermot Conlon from REA Gunne Property in Carrickmacross says the shortage of new housing is having a major impact on the property market.
A new report released from Real Estate Alliance, showed that across Monaghan, 50 percent of purchasers were first-time buyers, while a total of 20 percent of sales in the county this quarter were attributed to landlords leaving the market. Dermot said any counties on the outer reach of Dublin along with people able to work remotely is also hiking up prices in a county like Monaghan.
