Lack of housing in Monaghan has created "major difficulties" for people

Commencement notices for planning permission has slowed down quite considerably across the Monaghan area.

That's according to Harry Dwyer who is Managing Director of the mortgage market at Moneycare based in Monaghan town.

Mr Dwyer says the mortgage market is in "very good shape' at the moment with an increase in demand since Covid and record low rates.

However, he believes that a complete lack of housing across Monaghan has created major difficulties for many people.
