Hundreds of people are continuing to search the wider Mountnugent area this afternoon for a missing man that was last seen in Oldcastle yesterday.
Fields and roadways are being combed from Oldcastle to Ballyjamesduff for Mark Smith who was last seen yesterday morning at 9am when he went for a run.
Gardai and his family have issued an appeal over his disappearance.
Landowners and farmers are being called on to check sheds and old derelict buildings in their locality also.
The appeal also centres around dash cam footage of the time of 9am onwards yesterday morning for anyone that was travelling in the wider Mountnugent, Oldcastle and Ballyjamesduff areas.
Since first light, hundreds have to come together from Mountnugent GFC in an effort to find the 44 year old.
Mark is described as being approximately 5 foot 7 inches in height, of slim build, is bald with blue eyes.
When last seen shortly before 9am this morning, Mark was wearing green running shorts, grey loose fitting T-shirt and blue runners.
Gardaí and Mark’s family are concerned for his well-being.
