A large gorse fire that broke out yesterday evening is now largely under control.
Cavan County Council confirmed that the recent fire in the Cuilcagh region has been brought under control.

It affected approximately 20 acres of forested area. The fire is currently smouldering, with no significant change in status at this time.

Fire service units from Dowra and Ballyconnell continue to monitor the area closely to ensure that the fire does not reignite.
