Students in Largy College in Clones are taking part in the quarter-finals of the all-island Concern Debates next week.
The Largy team will face Dublin School, St. Joseph's College Lucan in the Concern Offices next Thursday.
The school will oppose the motion, that Artificial Intelligence is a force for global good.
Over 170 schools took part in this year's debates programme, with teams from all four provinces of Ireland.
Speaking to Northern Sound this week, the team's captain, Eleanor McGoldrick explained how she got involved in the team.
She said: "We were in first year when the last team won the final. It was really cool, we all would have loved to have been a part of that.
"So when Ms. Cumiskey said, 'would any TY's like to do debating this year?' we said, 'Please! That would be class craic'," she added.
