An Taisce, one of Ireland's oldest and largest environmental organisations have paid tribute to the late John Manuel Morehart on his restoration of Bellamont Forest in Cavan.
The house is noted in the National Built Heritage Service survey: as an iconic building of national importance.
It is considered the best and earliest example of a Palladian villa in Ireland.
John Manuel Morehart died recently in the USA aged 69.
In August 2025, and facing illness, he brought together a group to plan for the long term future of the house and estate.
An Taisce said the revival of Bellamont will remain his lasting legacy.
