A Co Monaghan business owner is putting his best foot forward to promote positive mental health and well-being, particularly amongst young people. Seany McCleary of the popular Blasta Street Kitchen recently raised €1,613 for SOSAD by running 100 kilometres over the month of November. Seany described his funding donation as a “tiny drop in the ocean” when it comes to what is actually needed to keep vital services like SOSAD alive.
Just last week SOSAD’s messaging service was cut, something which Seany says is unfortunate as it’s young people who would depend on this service the most. Speaking to Northern Sound, the local business owner believes Government must do more to support youth mental health services in this country.
