A local councillor has raised the issue of a lack of off street parking in Ballyjamesduff.
Cllr Trevor Smith said at present there is no standalone car park in the town and with cars parking along the street it's leading to parking congestion.
He pointed out that people will be taking the bus from Ballyjamesduff and leaving their cars parked along the street for the day. He said spaces being occupied for lengthy periods is leaving for the town to be clogged up with cars.
The issue was highlighted at the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District meeting were Cllr Noel Connell said it would be a great idea if a suitable location for a car park in the town could be found.
While Cllr TP O'Reilly said it was an issue for every town in the county and it would be great to see off street parking in all these towns. John McGahern, the Ballyjamesduff MD engineer said off street parking was desirable in every town in Cavan but money was needed to achieve this and bring it to a reality.
Cllr Smith believes a cark park in Ballyjamesduff would be a gamechanger for the busy town.
