A local councillor is calling on motorists to be extra cautious when taking to rural roads over the coming weeks.
There will be an increase in traffic from local farms as silage season gets underway. Tractors and heavy machinery will continue to be more prevalent on roads in the coming weeks. Cllr Shane P O'Reilly highlighted his calls to road users on social media this week.
The Co Cavan councillor says that farmers are the backbone of rural Irish economies across the country and we should not forget the great work they do.
Cllr O'Reilly said that farmers also need to vigilant during this busy time. He said motorists need to be cautious, patient and understanding.
